Format rules
- One row per employee. Names and employee numbers are not needed: leave them out.
- Commas, semicolons and tabs are detected automatically, and decimal commas work. A currency symbol next to an amount is tolerated.
- Pay is gross and hourly. If you only hold annual pay, divide it by the paid hours of the year first.
- Lines with an invalid gender, a missing category or a non-positive pay are skipped and listed. The upload is rejected if more than one line in ten is invalid.
- Up to 20,000 rows and 2 MB per file.
Frequently asked questions
Which columns does the file need?
Four: gender, job_category, base_hourly_pay and, optionally, variable_hourly_pay. Column names are matched flexibly, so sex, grade or bonus work too.
Can I upload annual salaries?
The file expects gross hourly pay. If you only hold annual pay, divide it by the paid hours of the year before you upload it.
Is my file stored?
No. It is processed in memory during the upload and discarded. Only the aggregated results are saved.
Do I need an account to download the template?
No. Both files download without signing up. You only need a free account to run the analysis.
